Project history: The Dokkum class was based on the British 'Ton' class, 18 ships being financed under MDAP, and a further 14 - known as the Wildervank subgroup - being purchased by the Netherlands. Construction was similar to that of the British vessels. The 14 units of the Wildervank subgroup had Werkspoor diesels in place of the Fijenoord units on the Dokkums.
Modernizations: 1968, Dokkum; 1970, Drunen; 1972, Veere; 1975, Staphorst: were converted to minehunters: - minesweeping gear; + type 193 sonar, 2 inflatable boats, 4 divers, ARNAS marker buoy automated display system
Naval service: No significant events.
