Modernizations: None.

Naval service: Reiger was lost 28.2.1942 in result of navigating accident NW off Java. Merel and Fazant were scuttled 1.3.1942 at Tadjong Priok; Fazant was salvaged by Japanese, commissioned by IJN as patrol No109 and returned in 1945.
