Project history: Coast defence battleships with a complete waterline belt. Two of the 209mm were in a barbette forward and one in a shield aft, with the 149mm guns in shields amidships.

Ship protection: 150(amidships)-100mm(ship ends) belt protected all hull length, it was connected with 55mm deck by 55mm slopes, the deck has turtleback form at ship ends. Fwd barbette with 2 209mm guns had 240mm protection, beam barbettes with 149mm guns had 75mm armour, aft 209mm gun was protected by 150mm shield.

Modernizations: None.

Naval service: No significant events.
