Project history: Former Japanese torpedo boat Kashi
of Momo class, transferred to Manchukuo as patrol ship, without TTs and
with changed artillery (originally carried 3 120mm/45 guns and 2 triple 450mm TTs).
In this time because of machinery deterioration speed has fallen from initial 31.5 to 15
kts. Authentic data about new armament structure is absent; probably, except 2 120mm
guns, Hai Wei carried some MGs and DCs.
Modernizations: None.
Naval service: In 1942, owing to heavy ships losses, Japanese returned the ship to themselves and commissioned her as Kaii. She was sunk 10.10.1944 at Okinawa by American carrier aircraft.
