Project history: Soviet export project 1234E small missile ships.

Modernizations: None.

Naval service: Ean Mara was damaged by USN 6th fleet 24.3.1986 in the Golf of Syrth but was repaired; she was badly damaged (as Tariq Ibn Ziyad) again by coastal artillery of anti-Kadhafi islamists 3.11.2014 at Benghazi, ship fired and sank but later salvaged and repaired. Real operational status (2019) is uncertain. Ean Al Gazala was damaged by NATO air attack 19.5.2011, never repaired and used for spare parts. Ean Zaara was sunk by British aircraft 19.5.2011 at Misrata. Ean Zaquit was sunk by US aircraft 24.3.1986 off Benghazi.
