Project history: Sen-Yuso-Sho (Small supply submarine) type. They were built under 1943/1944 programme in addition to large transport submarines. Maximum simplification of a construction and welding usage have allowed to shrink terms of their building to about five months. 10 submarines were completed, 2 were not finished. Work on 88 boats of this type of the 1944/1945 programme (HA113-200) did not start. Saddle-tank type, endurance was 15 days.

Modernizations: None.

Naval service: ÍÀ101-109 and 111 were scuttled by Americans 1.4.1946. Unfinished ÍÀ110 foundered because of hull leak 16.4.1946. ÍÀ112 was handed over on demolition in 1946.
