Project history: After capitulation of Germany all being in Japan German submarines 8-10.5.1945 were transferred under Japanese control and after assimilation of ships by new crews entered service. 15.7.1945 they have replaced old, still German numbering on accepted in the IJN.
Modernizations: None.
Naval service: Both were scuttled by Americans 12.2.1946.
