Project history: First two units were authorized under the FY 89 budget, with two per year thereafter planned to a total of six, but only one was authorized in FY 90. Three more were planned for FY 1992-95, but further procurement has been canceled. Wooden-hulled construction, with GRP sheathing. Equipped to deploy Type S-7 autonomous minehunting vehicle and Type S-8 deep-sea mine disposal system, the latter a version of the U.S. Honeywell SLQ-48 remote-controlled submersible vehicle.

Modernizations: None.

Naval service: No significant events.
