Project history: Two were delivered to Japan in February 1998, with two others ordered in April 1998 and delivered 10.2.1999, and two more delivered late 1999. Are controlled two-each by MCLs. The catamarans also automatically lay eight swept-channel danbuoy markers. SAM means Self-propelled Acoustic and Magnetic.
