Project history: Minesweepers of Bangor class, laid down in Hong Kong for Royal Navy 22.7.1941. At the moment of city occupancy by Japanese troops in December, 1941 they were on the stocks in a low readiness level. They were completed for IJN.
Modernizations: None.
Naval service: W101 was sunk by American aircraft 12.1.1945 at Cape Padaran. W102 was hard damaged on a mine 3.2.1945 N off Haitan but repaired and in 1947 returned to UK.
