Project history: Both units were authorized under the 1953 Programme as two further 'B type' escort vessels, powered by diesels. All weapons and electronics were US produced. Due to projected vibrations from the diesels, mild steel plates were used and an aluminium alloy was employed in the superstructure.
Modernizations: 1959, both: - 2 x 1 - 76/50, 1 x 2 - 40/60, 4 DCT, 1 DCR; + 2 x 1 - 76/50 Mk 34, Mk 34 radar
