Project history: The improved variant of Isokaze, differed from a prototype by more powerful machinery with oil-firing boilers and, accordingly, increased speed. Number of 120mm guns was lowered, but calibre of torpedoes has increased to 533mm.

Modernizations: 1920s, both: - 3 x 2 - 533 TT; + 2 x 3 - 533 TT.

Naval service: As hulks both ships have lived to the Second World War.
