Project history: Miyako, built under the 1892 Programme, but was not completed in time for the Sino-Japanese war, not entering service until September 1899.
Modernizations: None.
Naval service: She struck a mine off Port Arthur in May 1904 and the wreck was subsequently raised and scrapped.
