Project history: First serial Japanese MTBs, built under 4th Supplementary programme of 1939. Created on the basis of experimental boat of B type. Wooden hull with V-shaped frames.

Naval service: 1-go was badly damaged in a storm 14.12.1942 and after repair used for training only.
