Project history: Former Italian minelayer Lepanto, scuttled by own crew at Shanghai 9.9.1943. In February, 1944 she was salvaged by Japanese and in March commissioned as gunboat.

Modernizations: None.

Naval service: Okitsu was 21.3.1945 hard damaged by US Army aircraft, in August, 1945 she surrendered to Allies and transferred to China.
