Project history: Former Dutch ÒÌ class MTBs. Steel-hulled, with V-shaped frames. They were captured by Japanese in Surabaya. Before fall of a city  twelve boats (ÒÌ-4—ÒÌ-15) have been scuttled by crews, six more, being on yard in different building stages, were blown up. Scuttled boats were salvaged by Japanese in 1942, repaired and entered service in 1942-1943. Six boats were completed  in 1943-1944.
