Project history: These ex-USN Balao class submarines, had been given the GUPPY II modernization in 1952-54 and the very extensive GUPPY III modernization in 1961-63. These were the first foreign transfers of the US PUFFS (BQG-4) passive underwater fire control system.

Modernizations: None.

Naval service: No significant events.
