Complement

Project history: Tugs-minesweepers. Suffered from low stability and bad seaworthiness. Wooden hulls.

Modernizations: 1920s, RD7: - 1 x 1 - 76/40; + 1 x 1 - 76/50 Vickers 1909.

Naval service: Incomplete RD14 capsized and sunk 3.1.1918 between Porto Corsini and Ancona under tow for completion. RD11 was sunk by mine 29.10.1918 off Cape Rodoni. RD2 capsized 16.7.1919 off Ancona. RD11 grounded in 1931 near Porto Palo (Sicily). RD7 was sunk 15.6.1942 in Saronic Gulf by mine or submarine torpedo. RD30 was bombed 26.12.1942 at Bizerta by Allied aircraft. RD56 was sunk 9.1.1943 at Bizerta by Allied aircraft, salvaged and again sunk by aircraft 24.3.1943 at the same place. RD31, RD36, RD37 and RD39 were sunk 20.1.1943 off Zuara by British destroyers Kelvin and Javelin. RD33 and RD43 capsized 22.1.1943 in the Gulf of Tunis. RD4 was bombed by Allied aircraft in "The Narrows" 29.1.1943. RD24 capsized 18.2.1943 W of Sicily. RD20 was sunk 11.4.1943 by Allied aircraft at Trapani. RD12  was sunk by Allied aircraft 2.5.1943 off Cape Bon. RD18, RD23, RD42 and RD57 were sunk 5.5.1943 at La Goulette (Tunisia) by Allied bombs. RD44 was sunk 5.5.1943 by Allied aircraft off Bizerta. RD38 was sunk 18.5.1943 at Trapani by Allied aircraft. RD55 was sunk 25.5.1943 off Messina by Allied aircraft. RD16 abandoned 23.7.1943 at Trapani in damaged condition, later repaired and transferred to Yugoslavia in August, 1948 as ML302. RD25 was abandoned 26.8.2943 near Messina, salvaged in 1945 and transferred to Yugoslavia as ML304. RD9, RD17 and RD26 were abandoned 9.9.1943 at Piraeus and captured by Germans. RD13 was scuttled 9.9.1943 at Viareggio. RD49 was captured by Germans 9.9.1943 at La Spezia and scuttled in 1945. RD35 was captured by Germans 13.9.1943 at Syra (Aegean). RD22 was mined off Brindisi 25.10.1943.
