Project history: This iron-hulled, barquentine-rigged vessel was designed by Eng Director Guglielmo Pucci. Her machinery was that  previously built for the Cristoforo Colombo.

Modernizations: 1897: + 4 x 1 - 57/43 N

Naval service: In 1900-03 she was converted to a surveying ship, with 4-57mm/43 only. Discarded 19.7.1914.
