Project history: A barque-rigged steel corvette designed by Eng Insp Carlo Vigna, with machinery built by Penn.
Ship protection: There was a sloping protective deck and cellular layer.
Modernizations: 1892: new armament consisted of 4 x 1 - 120/40 A, 2 - 350 TT (beam)
1910s: new armament consisted of 4 x 1 - 76/40 A, 2 x 1 - 6.5/115
Naval service: In 1892 she was converted to a TS. After having been discarded in 1920 she was used as a TS for boys at Naples under the designation CM181 and unofficial name of Caracciolo until 4.3.1923.
