Project history: In 1939 there are begun studies of the design of small MTB on the basis of pleasure boat. First launches of MTS type (MTS = Motoscafi di turismo, siluranti (tourist boat carrying torpedoes)) became development of suicide boats of MTM type. The design was developed by Baglietto. The sizes were increased for placing of two torpedoes and two crew members. MTS launches have passed successful trials in 1940, however because of insignificant endurance and low speed (with torpedoes speed felt to 23kts) and did not participate in operations.

Modernizations: None.

Naval service: No significant events.
