Project history: Type "Baglietto class 500, 2nd series": lengthened version of 1st series. In addition to main Isotta-Fraschini engines they had 2 70hp Alpfa-Romeo or 50hp Carraro petrol engines for cruising. Endurance under cruising motors was 1100(6)nm. One boat of series, MAS550, was metal-hulled instead of wooden sister-boats and was a little bit less at the expense of what she had higher speed.

Modernizations: 1940 - 1941, many boats with 13.2/76 MG: - 1 x 1 - 13.2/76; + 1 x 1 - 20/65 Breda 1939

1944, MAS MT540, 545: - 1 x 1 - 13.2/76, 2 - 450 TT, 6 DC; + 3 x 1 - 20/65 Breda 1940

1946, ME B5, 7: - 2 - 450 TT, 6 DC
