Project history: Former private yacht Argosy, served under USN flag as PY31 Cythera. She was stricken by USN in 1946 and in 1947 purchased by Israel and became a blockade runner Ben Hehcht, bringing 600 refugees to Palestine. 9.3.1947 she was intercepted by British destroyer Chieftain and towed to Haifa. In 1948 ship was converted to a gunship and commissioned by Israeli Navy.

Modernizations: None.

Naval service: After 1956 Suez/Sinai campaign Maoz was sold for mercantile service, in 2009 she was actively used.
