Modernizations: mid-1960s, both: - 1 x 4 - 533 TT
Naval service: Eilath sank on 21 October 1967 after being hit by three P-15 SSMs 14nm off Port Said. The missiles were fired from Egyptian Project 183R FAC inside the harbour. This was the first time in history that a warship was sunk by a ship-launched missile.
