Project history: Seaworthy sloops (sometimes rated as gunboats) with diesel machinery. Under the design 3 102mm guns should be installed, but one of them was replaced by 2 76mm AA guns.

Modernizations: None.

Naval service: Babr was sunk 25.8.1941 by Australian sloop Yarra in Khorramshahr; subsequently she was raised, but following under tow in Karun river mouth ran ashore and wrecked. Palang was sunk 25.8.1941 by British sloop Shoreham in harbour of Abadan; subsequently she was broken up.
