Project history: Project 28. Ordered in 2003. Intended primarily to conduct offshore ASW operations but also for use with 200nm economic zone patrol, fisheries protection, search-and-rescue duties, and may also be employable as survey ships. Significant efforts have been made to reduce radar, infrared, magnetic, and acoustic signatures. Built with an NBC warfare protection system and a helicopter facility and capable of operating aircraft in up to Sea State 4 and remaining effective in up to Sea State 7.

Naval service: No significant events.
