Project history: YMS class minesweepers, built specially for transfer to RN on lend-lease. First four soon after arrival to British ports were transferred to Greece (formally they were registered as returned by Great Britain 12.8.1944 to USA), three more were returned by Royal Navy to US Navy 15.12.1943 and transferred by latter to Greece 20.12.1943. After war, in 1946-1948, Greece received additional boats.

Modernizations: 1957, Ariadne; 1959, Prokyon, Kleio, Lambadias, Pigassos, Thalia, Andromeda: - minesweeping gear

Naval service: Kassos and Kos were lost on mines 15.10.1944 at approaches to Piraeus.
