Project history: Former Canadian built Algerine class fleet minesweepers, built for the USN and supplied to the RN under lend-lease. All were transferred to Greece for use as corvettes. By the late 1960s all were used mainly as transports, also Armatalos as lighthouse tender, Machitis and Polemistis as TS and Pyrpolitis as command ship for amphibious operations.
