Project history: Four 1000t destroyers ordered in June 1914 from John Brown - Kriti and Lesvos and at Fairfield - Samos and Chios. Requisitioned after the outbreak of the war and purchased in August 1914 by Royal Navy being renamed Medea, Medusa, Melpomene and Melampus respectively.
