Project history: Former French torpedo boats of 600-ton type. L'lphigenie, Bombarde, La Pomone and Baliste 8.12.1942 were captured by German troops at Bizerte (Tunisia) and 28.12.1942 transferred to Italian Navy as FR41, FR42, FR43 and FR45; La Bayonnaise 27.10.1942 was scuttled by crew at Toulon, salvaged by Italians and commissioned by Italian navy as FR44. In April, 1943 they were transferred by Italians to Kriegsmarine and arrived Toulon for repair. Real speed did not exceed 30kts.
Modernizations: None
Naval service: TA9 was disarmed at Toulon in September, 1943 and sunk in the same place 23.8.1944 by Allied aircraft. TA10 was damaged in battle against British destroyer Eclipse in Aegean Sea, and scuttled 27.9.1943 at Rhodes. TA11 10.9.1943 was damaged by Italian tanks and sunk by Italian torpedo boat Aliseo and corvette Cormorano at Piombino (Elba). Repair of TA12 and TA13 was not been completed: former was sunk during raid of American B-17 bombers to Toulon 22.9.1943, latter was scuttled at Toulon 25.8.1944.
