Project history: Ex-Italian torpedo boats/escort destroyers of Ciclone class. Impavido and Ardito 18.9.1943 were captured by German troops at Porto Ferraio (Corsica) and commissioned by Kriegsmarine 9.10.1943 and 19.12.1943 as TA23 and TA26 respectively. Intrepido 9.9.1943 (next day after launch) was captured incomplete at Riva-Trigoso; she was completed by Germans 16.1.1944 as TA25.

Modernizations: None.

Naval service: All ships operated at western coast of Italy (in Ligurian and Tyrrhenian seas). TA23 was hard damaged 25.4.1944 on a mine laid by Italian torpedo boat Sirio W off Capri and sunk by torpedo from TA29. TA25 was sunk 21.6.1944 by British MTBs at Viareggio. TA26 was sunk 15.6.1944 by American MTBs PT552, PT558, PT559 W off Specia.
