Project history: Outdated Italian torpedo boats of Curtatone class, captured in Aegean Sea in September, 1943. TA16 has entered German service 14.11.1943 and TA19 13.10.1943. Real speed did not exceed 24kts and an endurance 600(12)nm.

Modernizations: late 1943, TA16: - 1 x 3 - 450 TT; + 1 x 1 - 40/56 FlaK 28, 1 x 4 - 20/65 C/38, 1 x 1 - 20/65 M1939

late 1943, TA19: - 1 x 1 - 102/45; + 1 x 1 - 37/80 SK C/30

Naval service: Both served in Aegean Sea. TA16 was damaged by British aircraft 31.5.1944, fore end was broken off, 2.6.1944 she was lost at Heraklion (Crete) as a result of explosion on s/s Gertrud, attacked by British bombers. TA19 was damaged by missiles from British aircraft 19.6.1944 and was under repair 1 month, 9.8.1944 she was sunk by a torpedo from Greek submarine Pipinos at Samos.
