Project history: The first German midget submarines with surface machinery: automobile petrol engine was used. Diving depth was 20m. Lead midget Adam has gone out on trials 29.3.1944. Though about 110 submarines of this type participated in operation, they were considered as extremely unsuccessful because of low endurance and imperfect machinery.
