Project history: RA1 and RA3 classes represented former French submarine chasers of Ch41 (Ch44-48) and Ch5 (Ch17-19) classes, captured on slipways in 1940 and completed for Kriegsmarine. Differed with a hull structure: RA1 had wooden hulls, RA3 had steel ones.

Modernizations: None.

Naval service: RA4 was scuttled 16.8.1944 at Paris.
