Project history: Whalers, laid down on order of Norwegian companies but purchased by Kriegsmarine during building and commissioned as patrols.

Modernizations: 1942, all survived and completed were armed with 1 x 1 - 88/42 SK C/30, (1 - 2) x 1 - 37/80 SK C/30, 6 x 1 - 20/65 C/38, 2 DCR.

Naval service: V6408 was torpedoed by British submarine Utsira 16.1.1945 S off Vikna. V5716 was damaged 15.10.1944 by Allied aircraft at Frohavet and never repaired. UJ1210 was sunk 16.5.1944 in Varanger Fjord by Soviet aircraft.
