Project history: Whalers, laid down on order of Norwegian and Argentinian companies but purchased by Kriegsmarine during building and commissioned as patrols.

Modernizations: 1942, all survived and completed were armed with 1 x 1 - 88/42 SK C/30, (1 - 2) x 1 - 37/80 SK C/30, 6 x 1 - 20/65 C/38, 2 DCR.

Naval service: V5307 was bombed by British aircraft E off Stadlandet. NM01 was torpedoed by Soviet submarine Shch-402 27.2.1942 N off Svaerholtklubben. V6606 was lost by unknown cause 9.3.1945.
