Project history: Whalers, laid down on order of Norwegian companies but purchased by Kriegsmarine during building and commissioned as patrols.

Modernizations: 1942, all survived and completed were armed with 1 x 1 - 88/42 SK C/30, (1 - 2) x 1 - 37/80 SK C/30, 6 x 1 - 20/65 C/38, 2 DCR.

Naval service: V5905 ran aground 29.12.1942 at Sylda. V6115 was sunk by Soviet submarine Shch-403 1.2.1943 off Korsneset.
