Project history: Almost identical to the S165-168 group.
Modernizations: 1910s, S176, S178, S179: - 2 x 1 - 88/27; + 2 x 1 - 88/42 TK L/45 C/14
Naval service: S177 was mined in the Baltic 23.12.1915. S178 was cut on two 4.3.1913 in collision with cruiser Yorck in the North Sea, but parts were salvaged and she was commissioned again in 1915.
