Project history: The original S165-168 were sold to the Turkish Navy together with the two pre-dreadnought battleships Kurfürst Friedrich Wilhelm and Weissenburg before being commissioned for the German Navy. To maintain the destroyer strength of the 1908 fiscal year Schichau received the order for a replacement group of similar boats, becoming S165-168 of the Imperial German Navy.
