Project history: Coastal torpedo-boat/minesweeper 1915 design, A II type, built by Schichau, Elbing. Hulls for A35, A38 and A41 were delivered by Sachsenberg Werft, Rosslau. Benefitting from the lessons of war, these boats had better performance characteristics. A 43, A 44, A 46-A 49 were transferred by railway in sections to Anrwerp/Hoboken and finished there. The boats were commissioned from May 1916 onwards and used in the Channel.

Modernizations: None.

Naval service: Only one boat was lost in the Baltic (A32 25.10.1917 stranded at Estonian coast, later salvaged and commissioned as Estonian Sulev), most of the remainder becoming British war reparations which were broken up in the 1920s; however, A30, A40, A42, A43 and A47 were taken over by Belgium and operated until about 1927, although A43 was not scrapped until 1943.
