Project history: Based on a private design study by the Norwegian shipbuilder who designed the prototype vessel Nasty for the Norwegian Navy. Later the Tjeld class was developed from this design. The navy ordered two units (designated Type 152) in May 1959 to find out whether a cheap hard-chine planing boat would be of use in narrow coastal waters. Trials showed that the design did not match requirements and no more were ordered.

Modernizations: None.

Naval service: The two existing boats were handed over to Turkey as military aid.
