Project history: Built under the 1912 programme. Project was developed by M. Simonot on the basis of Archimède and Gustav Zédé.
Modernizations: 1920s, Daphné: diving time was reduced, new periscope was installed.
Naval service: Diane was lost 11.2.1918 off La Pallice with all hands by explosion.
