Project history: Normand-Fenaux type. Built under the 1922 programme and generally presented variant of Sirène class. According to some information, they were armed with 100mm gun. These submarines were considered as the most successful variant of "600ton" boats.

Modernizations: early 1930s, all: - 1 x 1 - 100/45; + 1 x 1 - 75/35 M1897.

Naval service: Ondine was lost at collision with Greek merchant vessel 3.10.1928. Disabled Ariane and Danaé were destroyed by crews at Oran 9.11.1942 before occupancy of base by Allies. Eurydice was raised by Italians but sunk again by Allied aircraft 22.6.1944. Eurydice was scuttled at Toulon 27.11.1942.
