Project history: Unique purpose-built "offensive" netlayer of French Navy, analogue of British Protector.
Modernizations: None.
Naval service: Le Gladiateur was scuttled 27.11.1942 at Toulon by own crew to avoid capture. 30.3.1943 ship was salvaged by Italians but later captured by Germans and commissioned them in January 1944 as SG18. She was bombed and sunk by Allied aircraft 4.2.1944.
