Project history: These three ships were built to replace the elderly ocean minesweepers of the Agile class for navigation training, and for route surveillance in the approaches to Brest. The design is based on a trawler hull. The DUBM-41B towed sonars were removed from the MSOs. A mechanical sweep can also be fitted.

Modernizations: 2007, Altaïr; 2008, Antarès; 2009, Aldébaran: - DUBM-41B sonar; + DUBM-44 sonar

Naval service: No significant events.
