Project history: EDA-R = Engins de Débarquement Amphibie Rapides. Catamaran roll-on / roll-off landing craft for use with the Mistral class. Aluminum construction; able to transport up to 100 tons, including two main battle tanks or 26 troops. Fitted with bow and stern ramps for offloading cargo and an adjustable pontoon deck that can be raised for transit or lowered for beaching.
