Project history: Serving in the Royal Navy as Oceanway, this vessel was returned to the USA in 1947 and was subsequently transferred to France under MDAP in 1952. The docking well could accommodate two LCT(3) landing craft. She gave the Marine Nationale much needed experience in amphibious operations and influenced the design of the Ouragan class TCDs.
