Project history: Flush-decked turbine driven sloops, built under the 1917 programme. Scarpe had clipper bow, remaining two ships had straight stems.
Modernizations: 1930s, all: - 1 x 1 - 65/50; + 1 x 1 - 75/35 M1897
Naval service: Scarpe 3.5.1920 received damages in battle against Soviet floating battery Krasnaya Zarya off Ochakov and surrendered, but soon was returned to France. Ancre was paid off in 1940.
