Modernizations: ~1920, Aisne, Marne, Meuse, Oise, Yser: armament was changed to 4 x 1 - 100/45 M1917, (2 x 1 - 65/50 M1902 or 2 x 1 - 47/50 M1902), 1 DCR.

~1920, Somme: armament was changed to 4 x 1 - 100/45 M1917, 1 x 1 - 75/35 M1897, 1 DCR.

Naval service: Marne participated in the French-Thai war and was scuttled in Indochina 10.3.1945, later she was raised and scrapped in 1957. Somme was paid off and broken up 14.10.1941. Yser was scuttled at Toulon 27.11.1942, salvaged, served under German flag as SG37. She was never commissioned again by French Navy and broken up in 1946.
