Project history: Privately funded by DCNS offshore patrol vessel (OPV Hermes) offered for service in a unique deal allowing the French Navy operational use of the ship under a three-year testing program. The deal allows the navy to test the vessel under operational conditions beginning in 2012 while affording the company the opportunity to show off the ship for marketing purposes, later deal was prolonged till July 2017. Built with steel hull and helicopter/UAV deck aft and the capability to launch and recover RIBs and small craft via a stern ramp, the ship is used primarily for EEZ patrol and general maritime support operations. There is helicopter deck able to landing of NH-90 helicopter, hangar can accommodate S100 Serval UAV. Polaris CCS is the version of SENIT 9. Two ZH935 9.3m RIBs can be launched via stern ramp.
